No accountability? What do you call what is happening now? There have been at least two officers suspended and an internal investigation along with a federal investigation?

This happened July 5th - If me and 5 of my friends beat you to death on July 5th, on camera, in public, with multiple witnesses, it wouldn't take the video going viral and international media attention before legal action was taken.

There aren't any charges yet, but I don't know what the norm is for murder. How long would it take me and my friends to be charged/arrested with something if the roles were reversed? Certainly we would've been arrested for something lesser than murder right away and charged with murder later???

If someone would have told me there was no accountability, I would have started going ape shit on people almost 20 years ago!

It does take a while to separate the wheat from the chaff, it's just the process. I never said I like it, but that's the way it is. When you are dealing with a governmental agency, there are other hurdles to overcome.


I don't give a rat's ass if it goes well or not. The people that know me know my character. I have been accused of using excessive force twice in my career. One time it was justified (I bear hugged a guy who had his hands in his pockets. He had a 2d felony warrant and I didn't want him to come out with a weapon, so I pinned his arms to his side. The second guy claimed I beat him with a baton on a traffic stop. This was before cameras, so I was scared shitless. The ER report said that the lesions that were present was a form of carcinoma. I'm one bad mother fukker if I can beat cancer into someone. That case was unfounded.)

Come on Matt. Accountability would have kept them from doing this. What is happening is punishment. Kind of like when a crime takes place and they are punished months later. These officers should be in jail, pending murder charges.

Society is filled with pussies, that is why people stand around. Like was stated above, people hedge the right thing to do based on fear of the police reaction to them trying to stand up.

Like it or not, cops are backing people into corners in regards to their actions and at some point cops will lose any fear/"respect" that they ever had. It's kind of like kids in school. After awhile the kid getting bullied will decide the punishment is worth receiving because he is tired of getting picked on. Cops really are their own worst enemy.
