I left Wal-Mart's employment in 2008 when working conditions changed. I'm not working for $30/hour without benefits.

Every natural gas compression company Iv worked for has me sign crap like that before. But from what Iv gathered it's because jackass mechanics use their service truck to go out and work on competitors compressors. None of the auto/diesel shops I worked at cared as long as you werent drawing customers away.

We had this with our fabricators, they would get hurt off the job, say it happened on the job and expect us to pick up the tab.

Had a plumbing company come out years ago to replace the sewage pipe at my house. Told me it would be like $2500 but he could come by and do it on the side with his buddy after work for $1500. When he showed up he drove the companies truck and used their equipment to do it.

So I can easily see why they do that.

I see this with a lot of shops. Usually it is to keep the techs from stealing the actual companies business by offering to do it cheaper on the side for the customer. Kind of a weird deal. It makes sense and is completely ridiculous at the same time.

My wife's uncle not only got fired but got in criminal trouble as well for spraying houses as a pest control person up in Austin several years ago. He as licensed and worked for a legitimate company but got busted doing stuff on the side as well.
