Most Alaskan cruises stop in Canada so you would need a passport.

Costco has some bad ass deals. The wife has me flying somewhere with her that requires a passport in May (I can't remember where, it changed so many times). 1200 for both of us, for a 4 day weekend. Food, flight and some allotment of drinks...hotel. yadda.

It's not much more expensive if at all than a regular bar on Friday night, plus like I said if you have a large group you can book it with drinks included. That and private parties are cheap on a ship, we had 20 on my last cruise and it was $11.44 a head for an hour. The second hour would have been like $6 more. You also have the past guest party, captain's party and the bon voyage party that'll usually have an open bar. Also the art auctions have free champagne and there seems to be one nearly every sea day. Then when in port if you get out of the cruise terminal drinks are usually dirt cheap!

You also have lots of people with rum runners and many people just smuggle full bottles. Also you can bring a bottle of wine per adult with you and you can buy bottles through their gift shop and have them in your cabin when you board. They are more than liquor store prices but not too far off.

Have to farm that out and hire one.

                  Yes, they do!
Only thing is, I only see them in a kiosk once or twice a year, selling the packages. Did she get them another way?

What cruise let you do that?
Carnival held any purchases you made for liquor (via the gift shop) and gave them to you the night before you left the ship. They would also check you when re-boarding from ports-of-call and if you had liquor they would confiscate it and hold it also.

Pretty sure online, I can ask her shortly. It's us and another couple going and I know they were looking online. Not sure the details though.

You have to call their Bon Voyage department up to a week prior to your sailing and you can order all you want. They will be taxed since it's considered a local purchase and it's more than the on board price but not a lot more than liquor store prices, and they are liter bottles.

Not if you don't get off the boat. Of course I wouldn't mind paying Phil a visit..

Not very often and only if it's patron.

That's a pretty good deal. Definitely worth checking into if we go that route. I would like to take another cruise at some point.
