Would you rather stay in an AZ jail or [insert just about any other international jail]?

    Ever watched 'locked up abroad'?

I guess the USA is not a member of the international professional jailers association.

Don't write rubber checks(who writes checks anymore?) And you won't have legal problems. Seems pretty simple to me. Pay your taxes, and you won't run into legal problems. Don't break the law, and associate with those who do, and it really cuts down in your own personal legal problems. I feel these are pretty understandable concepts.
And you obviously have absolutely no clue how our legal system really works.

Dang, my only point is that the inmates Iv talked to have complained about not having ac but there the same ones that stand outside in 100+ weather and play softball all day long. I havent been to all the prisons in Tx but Iv probably been to more than most people. None of them have been air conditioned. Keep in mind there's a difference in county jail, tdc, and federal prison. All of the county jails Iv been to had ac.
I didnt mean to start a thread of arguing. I just think it's silly for the guys that play softball with us to complain about not having ac.

My point is were doing something wrong, and rather than trying to ignore with KILL THEM ALL statements, perhaps we should be thinking why it is not working and what are some other countries doing that does work.
Wow man, wow. Your comments are retarded, this one and your previous one. You are using the reason that there are innocent people in prison, so we need to make it nice for them, and cool beans, the violent offenders also get this grand ole treatment.

And, felons do not go back to prison because of any type of mistreatment, or not having a/c. Put them in a concrete block 23 hours per day and do not let any of the prisoners talk to each other. That way they won't learn any "new tricks". This will also prevent violence, sex, drug use and trafficking inside of the prison.

i dont think anyone should end up in prison for drugs, but until that law is changed it's not that hard to keep your nose clean. if you mess up enough times to end up in prison then maybe you do need some time to think about the direction your life is headed. it takes a lot of fucking up to end up in prison(for non violent stuff, drugs, etc).

A lot of times if you're going to prison for drugs, you've failed at the opportunity the system gave you by placing you on deferred or community supervision. Outside of hardcore drug dealers, lots of people that do get into the system get a chance to correct their lives before they get to the big house. Yet they still choose to fuck up.

I have firsthand knowledge of "how the legal system really works", and I agree with the rest. The percentage of people who wind up in prison by wrongful conviction is so incredibly small. Just like you can't legislate to the lowest common denominator, you can't make things comfortable for all, just because of that tiny percentage. That's ridiculous.

I think prisons in America need to be a lot tougher. Get rid of the cable, get rid of the TV all together. It has no place there. Everyone confined to a cell 23 hours a day. No exceptions.

Three words: "Cool Hand Luke". Sit all of them down, and let them watch prison life in the '60's. No bullshit. "What we've got here is failure to communicate."

I have NEVER seen a TV show that is ~based~ on truth not embellish on it's selling point.

That said, I am ALL for prison when needed, everyone that has read my posts know this, but sticking someone in a hole, whether it being a tent that is barely a shelter with 145* inside temps or a room with no windows and no air circulating at 115* is cruel. If they deserve cruel, that is fine. If they are doing their time as per the law, let them do it in a condition that doesn't kill a normal person not trained/conditioned to such conditions.

Hey, if three (usually) hots, and a cot are good enough for the military, that should be the very most an inmate gets.
Don't talk to me about the fucking heat. 115* air temp, 150* deck surface temp, hauling 100+ pounds of aircraft tie down chains, and aircraft tow bars around...all while trying to not get killed by a moving aircraft for 12+ hours a day, 7 days a week, for 5 straight months.

Boo-fucking-hoo, quit breaking the law, asshole!

If all crimes were actually punished for the full extent that they "could" be with no regard for prison capacities, there are a lot of "innocent" people if actually caught that would be locked up. Fraudulent inspection? Tampered/removed your emissions? All it takes is the right judge and jury to take something frivolous and decide to make an example of out you. You read about it happening to people all the time.

So, abecx, besides your "lol" and "hahaha" responses do you have anything of value to debate or just here venting?

I know several repeat offenders that had no complaints about jail. My way of thinking is exactly opposite of yours. I feel that the minute life starts getting really hard on the outside, they prefer to fallback to prison.

In my prior post I tried to make it know that I feel there are different types of criminals in prison. So, frankly for the severe criminals I could still careless about them.

I am curious how much you have researched our prisons and maybe talked with people who have been there - and more than just in one state. The prison system is generally fucked up, I agree with you on that one. However, in many cases it's certainly not due to being too strict. More due to corruption and lack of real discipline. Lack of discipline is what gets these people in these situations in the first place. Ya know, when you're driving down the road, someone about kills you by driving like and idiot and you do not shoot them? Discipline.

As far as other countries go, I don't want to fucking hear that bullshit. I have limited exposure to other country's clinks and if I were going to prison - I'd give a left nut for a US prison just from the little I've seen. (Being around them, maybe going to hand stuff over to local police for work...etc...never actually inside them - which I'd imagine is worst) Also not to mention I KNOW a lot of out countries consider citizens to be shit, much-less prisoners.

China has lower prison population because they lie. They don't even tell the truth about the shit that doesn't matter, like their economy. Do you think they will tell anyone the truth about this sort of thing? lol

I hate to be 'that guy', but you signed up for it, you volunteered for it. You were prepared in training to physically do it. You could get discharged out of it. You were in that situation because you wanted to be in that situation.

There is no need for all the bravado, if the conditions are bad enough that prisoners are dying, it is cruel, it should be unlawful. If someone is sent for two years for tax evasion and is basically killed due to the poor conditions in that prison, he has been basically executed by the government. He was sentenced to imprisonment, not death.

If someone breaks the law, give them the sentence that fits. Hell, give them the max for it. Let that sentence fit the crime. It is a felony to leave a dog in a hot car, but the government can get away with doing it to people?
