Another police shoots dog thread

The real story is that three felons beat a man down, robbed him and stole his car then ran from responding officers. The dirt bags let the dog out of the yard. The officers encountered the dog as they rounded a house (not the owners home). Though very tragic, they officers did an outstanding jobs chasing down the scum that committed the horid crime. If that was you that got beat down you would expect nothing left from these fine officers. There is no pleasing the same ole group of whining d-bags on here that complain about everything under the sun.

Surely if a cop hops your fence and is in YOUR property uninvited he is tresspassing? i dont know about shooting the cop.. but i would sue the fuck out of him and the department.. IF you arent on my land invited.. you have no business being there..

I expect every day to hear a story on the news where some cops shoots some guy's dog due to ego/stupidity, and said guy ends up turning their head into a canoe moments later. I figure it isn't a matter of if, but when.

In doing so, it is believed that one of the suspects ran into the back yard of 3204 Hodges Street and fled through a gate which led to the front yard. The suspect left the gate open which allowed the family dog the ability to chase after the suspect. One of the pursuing police officers ran in front of 3204 Hodges Street, the dog diverted his attention from the suspect to the police officers and began running towards him.

If a cop (or anyone for that matter) hopped my fence chasing someone else and shot either of my dogs, he would be dead. Grow a pair and learn how to handle dogs. Afraid of an fing bite? Give me a break.

Not all these guys wanting to harm someone over a animal. Sorry but human life trumps animal life. Frost loves to compare police dog vs standard dog in his rants. The difference is the police dog is sent in to get the bad guy. The bad guy shoots a police dog , yes its a felony. Whats wrong with that? Thats why the law was created. Police dog doing its job and bad guy taking shots at it. Generally the dog is not sent in unless the guy is hiding somewhere. If a fucking police dog where to get loose, run out of the fence, and chase your ass even in the officers front yard, you could shoot the shit out of it. No charges or anything unless you are a convicted felon, no CHL etc etc. Now that is a fair comparison.

The story posted above sucks. You guys are reading a lot into it though. That dog is plenty big enough to bite the shit out of you. If you are chasing a felon andddddd maybe even have your gun out, I could see the dog getting popped. I was not there though so who knows. If I made high level decisions at that city I would make damn sure the people where well taken care of.

Just a bad situation and no fault of the dogs or the owners thats for sure.

I have to agree. Human life over an animals. How about this lock your damn gates and then your dog can't get out. I keep my gates locked so some dumb ass can't let my dogs out. The FTP mentality on this board is getting out of hand.

I tell you, if you were the person shot, stabbed or your kid molested and beaten you would be pissed if a cop stopped chasing the bad guy because of a fucking dog. Versus a dog in it's own yard or house doing it's job and protecting that yard or house when the cop kills it. Why isn't that a felony? It's doing it's job

Actually, the article says the dog was in it's yard and turned when the officer entered the yard. Had the cop not crossed the yard, the dog wouldn't have taken off after him. This boils down to this:

Dog doing it's job protecting it's yard and home can get shot by cops, nothing happens.

You shoot a K9 and you go to jail for killing a cop.

Any further questions? Cops and even their dogs, are held to different standards than PEOPLE they are supposed to be servants of.

Edit: And he didn't just shoot the dog once, he shot it 4 fucking times. You do not enter my yard without a warrant or prior notification. Period. The signs on the gate are all the warning I'm giving
