    Jason,

As you're here and I have no clue when the other officers will get on, I have a question for you. Have you ever heard of an officer personally apologizing for something like this to the family? Not a press release, not a form letter, but actually apologizing?

I have yet to meet a cop that didn't have an underlying 'Judge Dredd' persona.

Hell, I can't remember seeing a cop here post were they were wrong.

I have. Not shooting a dog, but I have. I have reviewed my video on a traffic stop recently and returned to the car and apologized more the once.
      Whos your Daddy?

I would in a heartbeat and have seen it happen once before. I also realize there are officers that would not.

Thank you for answering so quickly. You never hear about it so it's good when it happens. Would it be asking too much for that to happen here? I'm actually wondering if I'm being unreasonable today

Please remind those individuals that they are the sole reason people distrust popo as a whole. If I were SGT, they would be doing comunity service till their attitudes changed. Either that or paper until they were handing me fries at the drive through window instead of wearing a badge.

I know plenty good cops, but unfortunately anytime I have had contact made with me I get the turd in the bunch. Like having to ask an officer to take his finger off the trigger, point his pistol somewhere else and holster it.......all over an expired inspection sticker and warrants for a dog that barked too much. (disclaimer: no there is nothing in my past that would suggest violence or weapons charges)
Fuck you. We're going to Costco.

What really bothers me, is almost all(and I have had a LOT due to my proclivity in ignoring traffic laws)of my interaction with officers through the years has been positive. I've gotten more breaks and had laughs with more cops than I can count, and theres a couple guys on here I consider friends that are cops.

Yet every time a story like this is posted you see the rush to defend the undefendable. It sucks. And seeing the thought process in action genuinely disturbs me. I liked this board a lot more when the cops were only on here to find out where the street racing was going on. I wish some of these guys would realize what the impact is of the garbage that falls out of their mouths. They are doing themselves a disservice and propagating the "I hate cops" mentality more than anything else. It is genuinely disgusting.

Especially when you get officers who straight up tell you that if someone exercises their right to remain silent and speak with an attorney, they believe they are guilty right off the bat

Now you know that isn't what was said. Try posting the whole, unadulterated truth and not something taken out of context.

Actually, that's exactly what you said. As a matter of fact, you jumped on another cop for calling you out on it saying not to take what the 'snakes' were feeding him. Would you like me to pull your exact quote?

Say he is involved in a traffic accident, does that mean he won't give the police any information (talk to the police)?

What if someone breaks into his house, binds him up and rapes his wife, will he not talk to the police?

There is a myriad of cases that are self defense that have been dropped because the accused has a reason for his action(s).

If the accused would have not talked to the police, then only one side of the story would have been presented to the DA and there would have been no choice but to pursue charges.

To anyone, keeping quiet and hiding behind an attorney implies guilt.

And here's your response to an officer who said that you were wrong if you think someone claiming the 5th is guilty

I investigated an attempted burglary where the homeowner shot one of the suspects as they were making entry. The homeowner briefly spoke to patrol before we got on scene. When we asked him to provide a statement he refused and asked for an attorney. Did I suspect him of any wrong doing? Not all. He exercised his constitutional right.

You are swallowing the bait the snakes here are throwing out. I never said that I believed someone guilty of something on the mere fact of taking the 5th.

It's an investigators job to investigate. That investigator should not believe the person guilty for just invoking the 5th, but should use the tools of the trade to do a complete and through investigation to come to a logical conclusion.

About the 8th time you've called me that with no elaboration. Cuts deep.

Hey man. I'm not sure if you think like what you post on the board or if you just like to stir the pot, but I'd like to give the Matt that's portrayed here on the boards a heartwarming "fuck you, dude."

Looks like he was spot on to me. That comment wasn't taken out of context, either.
