Manny was telling me at the Cruise that taking apart his new 5.0 ,(paraphrasing) its basically the exact same pistons and rod type that have held together mod motors like 2Vs that fall apart at 400whp. It's the piston squirters that keep them alive.

I don't get the argument on buying a used GT500 vs a new GT... they aren't a good comparison. But I feel like just thinking in my head, picking up a used 2011-2012 GT500 for low 40's is a better deal than trying to build up a GT to match all aspects of the GT500. Maybe steve was saying he could be satisfied w/ the GT, but to match the GT500 it's going to be quite a bit more. Aren't the internals in the GT500 superior as well for power proven long term?
