92K is nothing on a Honda/Acura, they are notorious for being pretty bulletproof as long as they are maintained properly. My sister finally sold her 1997 Prelude last year that she got for HS Graduation. Although her and her husband both had new cars and even a city issued Tahoe, they kept the honda because it was so reliable and cheap to "feed"! I would suggest getting it checked out before making a decision. At least you know the history of the past 2 years of your TL vs buying something else used that may/may not be better.

I went to crank my truck one day, it was slow to turn over and made a horrible screeching sound, but started up. By the time I jumped out and got the hood open to check it out it was smoking and a bad smell was coming from it. I popped the hood, and it looked like a brisket had exploded under the hood. It took a while to realize a cat had got tangled in the radiator fan and engine belts.

short term: Keep the car and fix it. Pay it off as quickly as possible
Long term? Stop buying cars on credit, especially since you put so many miles on them.
I like Silverback's suggestion (pay off TL, buy Tahoe, use TL for daily, Tahoe for fun car).

I ran by the Acura dealership when I ran to grab lunch and told the service writer about it. He said if it wasn't still doing it, then there wasn't really anything he could do and gave me his card in case it happens again so I could get a loaner while they check it out. I'll probably just keep this one, pay it off and get a fun car a few years down the road. Thanks for the input everyone.

Originally posted by Leah View PostI absolutely LOVE my 07 Acura TL, but it has 92k miles. That makes me sooooo nervous so I'm thinking about trading it in for something else, but I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT I WANT!
Actually, I know-I want a Tahoe, but I drive 30k miles a year and can't afford that gas so I need to stick with something that gets half-way decent mileage. I wouldn't mind getting another TL, but would like a little more room for the kids. I am so beat down right now just thinking about car shopping.
Would you guys keep the 07 and hope for the best or would you trade it in while it's still worth something and get something newer?

#firstworldproblems!!Originally posted by davbrucasI want to like Slow99 since people I know say he's a good guy, but just about everything he posts is condescending and passive aggressive.
Most people I talk to have nothing but good things to say about you, but you sure come across as a condescending prick. Do you have an inferiority complex you've attempted to overcome through overachievement? Or were you fondled as a child?
You and slow99 should date. You both have passive aggressiveness down pat.
