Last time I checked a VX1 wasn't rimfire, it is the cheaper LR308 without the forward assist under a grand out the door a couple years ago. Got the scope on clearance at Academy when they were getting rid of the 50mm VX1's.

I was also working at Academy at the time so I got an additional 25% off the clearance price lol. Pretty much stole that scope now that I think about it.

I built a 6.8 AR for hog hunting. 16" barrel, mid length gas system, Timney trigger, SWFA SS 1-4 illuminated reticle scope, and a green Hogzilla light.
I have an LR-308 I'm building too, but it will be a heavy bitch and I wouldn't want to lug it around hunting.
Atlantic Blue '00 - '03 Cobra motor and TKO600, solid axle, full MM suspension
              Silver '01 Vette - D1 blown LS

I spent a few bucks to get the weight down. In it's stock form it was a heavy bitch!

6.8 AR all the way. 85-110g Barnes TSX or TTSX, never lost one and shot over 300+ pounds. Plus it is light enough to stalk and short enough to use on an ATV.

This would be my choice as well.

Yale do you know anywhere local to get a PTR? I have been (online mostly), trying to find some good prices.

There's a wood stocked one in my local gun shop.

                              In a stand - my lr 308 with 4-16 x 50 scope. (13.8 lbs unloaded)
Walking in woods - my Wasr, 300 blackout, or 6.8 spc.
A pack of hogs - any ar-15 variant with slidefire stock.
Any single hog 30 yards or less I want my Ak. Anything over that I want my lr308.

An AR15 with a suppressor. You're going to hunt at night so you don't want a muzzle flash to blind you.
