There's starting to be some chatter about signing Prince Fielder or extending Hamilton's contract. According to the DMN sports writer, the money will come out the same for either guy ($120 million for 7-8 years) for a long-term deal. Hamilton will make $13.75 million next year? DAMN! That's good money for a part-time player. Fielder played all 162 games last year at 1st base, and was great at the plate.

Fielder has some attitude problems, he's not a Frankie Francisco or Milton Bradley but he has done some stupid things. Mike Maddux had to hold him back from fighting one of his own pitchers in Milwaukee, not a good sign. He's also very over weight and a vegetarian, not sure how that happens.
However we are thin at 1st base talent wise, there aren't really any prospects in the farm system. We are going to have to sign a free agent anyways or stick with Moreland and just accept an out every time he faces a lefty.

Personally I would like the 2010 AL MVP. Hamilton to me is a better overall player. 5 tools. He gets hurt a bit too much, but he is all out every play.
Wish we could have both. Nasty lineup.... What order to bat them? Ian. Elvis, Josh, Prince? Damn Nellie would be like 7th?Some cars and a bike...
Some say... they have been raced, some a lot

You're always so bitter about Hamilton. Give the guy a break. He gets hurt because he is balls to the wall every second he's on the field. I'll take the downside of that over someone that pussy foots around out there.Originally posted by BradMBut, just like condoms and women's rights, I don't believe in them.Originally posted by LeahIn other news: Brent's meat melts in your mouth.

Fielder isn't long for this league. He doesn't have the heart for the game and look how big he is as a vegetarian early in his career; what happens when he starts getting older and isn't as careful with his diet? The motherfucker is a $100 million timebomb.

Is Hamilton worth $15-$20 million a year with his history?
