Dallas Raceway announced yesterday they were closed till further notice due to tough economic times.

I'm going back to the track, plan on being there alot. (Redline) Im pretty guilty as anyone about not going. Hell there was a time i had to make myself not go. Kelly, aka 1badluv, get ready......hope you like seeing me.

I've never built a mail order race car as I've always tried to give my local speed shops the business. Yeah you might save 10 bucks mail ordering but most of the time their willing to get as close as they can.

For what it's worth, let's go back to the track for 2012 and support them.
Doing enough racing for 99% of the board!

I agree 110% but werent they WAY out in BFE? I heard that was a awsome track too, too bad I never had anything to run there. Im sure if they sell out someone will pick it up though, way too much money invested out there.

        Wow, we're losing our tracks.

I can't even remember the last time I went to the track, it's been years. It had to have been the DFWS cruise about 4 or 5 years ago.

Hope Red Line will stay competitively on their entry fees.

            I don't understand that.

From what I can tell, Redline is WAY out in BFE. Crandall is not nearly as far out of the dallas area as Redline.

weekly racing is a sure fire way to work your ass of to make a marginal living. people try, and get tired of it usually after about 3 years.

Redline is like 24 miles out 30 from 635/30. Ten minutes from rockwall.

Since I am bored as shit at work. I took the same point of 30/635 and google mapped it. Its 26.7 miles to redline. 22 to Crandall.

its a misconception. Of course, if you are coming from the North side of DFW, Redline is closer.

Of course, for you and I, Crandall is a 10 minute drive. Sucks to see it have so much trouble.

As much as I hate the crowd at K-dale on Sunday's (if you've ever been you know what I mean), I always remind myself that those folks paid to get in (probably), and without them the track wouldn't make it. I just make sure I stay aware of my surrounds, keep everything that moves bolted down, and my concealed weapon close...lol!

that track is really nice... they parking is dangerous on rear ends and transmissions though

sucks that they are not going to be open since it is such a nice track.

Yea but the racing surface is no bueno. They to get that thing leveled out before I go back.

Crandall is/was a nice track but poorly managed. The wait was rediculous for such a small car count!

                              Redline Raceway

Redline Raceway will be open and will be the same price as last year to come out and race. Go to the website http://www.redlineraceway.com for all of our events we have planned this year. And you can also go to our Admission page http://redlineraceway.com/admission_page.html for pricing to get in. It is a sad thing to hear about Dallas Raceway, do not wish that upon anybody. But in these hard economic times, this has been happening to tracks all over, Closing because they just cant bring in enough to keep the doors open. The tracks have alot of overhead that some people dont think about in order to just open for the day. Then on top of that you have your bank payments. Redline welcomes every racer to come back out and race this year. We are open tomorrow Saturday Jan 14, 2012 for test n' tune from noon till dark. The high is 63 degrees and sunny. Redline is located just 26 miles from 635, plus now the new George Bush Toll Road just opened which goes straight to hwy 30 right before the lake, so you guys in Garland, Rowlett, North Dallas.... can get to the track a whole lot faster.
