Several people in the NLOC have made over 500hp with a stock Lightning longblock. That's GT40 cast iron heads, flat tappet hyd camshaft, and GT40 intake. Bolt on an S-Trim, pulley to 12#'s, make the #.

I dunno, depending on costs of a HCI build vs. turbo it may be better to run the turbo. If you can piece together a cheap DIY turbo kit that would be tits, but for a 15 yo I'd stay NA and keep the bottle out until at the track.

Just put a cam, intake, and exhaust your son is 15 it will be fast enough for him. At that age they just want to be cool so a paint job wheels and exhaust. My 2 cents

My son is only 15. Building it kinda mild. Gt40 heads are here laying around. That's the only reason I'm asking

Got my 5.0 when I was 17 basically stock and I'm grateful I didn't kill myself. I'd throw an E-cam in it stock so it sounds a little nastier and call it a day.

Throw it together with the gt40's and then once he is driving build the turbo kit together. Or hell build it all together.

Gotcha, do a 351 with h/c/i and it would be a sweet ride and plenty for what he needs
