i have a 2000 mustang gt automatic
i have too many individual mods to mention, but i'll share with the ones that truly made a tangible difference on my car. and by that i mean it was actually worth the money and yielded positive results at the track.
* m/t e.t. street dot slicks 26x11.5 | weld draglites 15x8 15x4
* dirty dog 10" 3,800 stall converter 2.5 tq multiplication factor. custom built by alan brown with a billet front cover and all the goodies.
* 4.56 gears w/LPW girdle
* frpp aluminum driveshaft
* welded sub frames, welded torque boxes, hotchkis control arms with poly bushings, etc..
* sct tune(s)
*full 2.5" exhaust dumped at the axle. this made a difference and virtually eliminated the drone of the standard 40s.
* i notice a difference with my asp u/d pulleys, some people don't.
* weight reduction. i.e. rear seat delete, front sway bar delete, remove all carpeting from trunk, rear mach 460 amps, etc...
^those are the things that made a difference on my timeslip. and was worth the time + investment.
__________________________________________________ _______________________________
the items below had no effect on my timeslip, and in some cases slowed me down.
* frpp 1 5/8 shorties (<yielded nothing. waste of money and a lot of work)
* started with a lloyd elliott ported stock upper elbow then switched to a c&l upper elbow, frpp 70mm tb, demolet rai, 24 lb. injectors calibrated/matched with pro-m 80mm maf, bypassing the a/c compressor with a shorter belt for short term test 'n tune purposes, lightweight 15 lb. track battery, etc..there are more odds and ends, but i think i illustrated my point.
^those are the things that i will eloquently describe as being all junk.Last edited by LS1Goat; 01-01-2011, 07:21 PM.
