  • Running rich

Just pulled the plugs out of my car. It's running rich. I'm only running 39 pounds of fuel. Doesn't really smell really rich but plugs say its rich

Have you made any changes to the car that could cause this condition? Do you notice any misfire? Sure it isn't burnt oil? The ECM will target 14.67 during closed loop operation and that's most likely 95% of your driving time. You have no cel? I would think if it is indeed running rich then perhaps it's in open loop all the time. Could be a failed oxygen sensor or a bad, miscalibrated MAF sensor.

              What exactly is rich? 10:1, 11:1, 12:1??

Most fuels will contaminate/color a plug even when it's running 'right'.

The tops of the plugs will be all white on any car that cruises reasonably lean. The tops of the plugs change color very fast.

What wideband are you using, where is it mounted, and when was the last time it was calibrated?

I'm running the stock ECM. The tip of the plug is white then alittle black from
                    There.

So, you DON'T have a wideband? Where did you get the "10.1" number?
