Get a new set of plugs and run it down the street and pull them out immediately after. That will give you an accurate reading. You read the outer ring for fuel jetting. The porcelain will tell you your ignition timing and fuel octane. The strap reads your heat range. Im no expert but from looking at that plug i would say your probably fine unless you wiped off a bit of soot from the top of that ring?

And to be picky maybe the plug is too high of a heat range from looking at the strap

The plug is a 5. It is too hot. He does not have a wide band. He was running 112 with a hair of 93 in the tank already. That plug is from driving it home after the track and whatever else he has driven to. He has a set of 7s he was suppose to put in. And yeah fast.O it's still funny....

And if I'm not mistaking the bottom of the porcelain tells you your rich or fat. It should have a slight brown ring at the bottom of the porcelain. The timing can still be read from the strap as well. Too much timing can make it run hot as well. Not the case here though.

Now, that makes sense. 112 octane is a LOT of octane for a 'street' motor - especially one that's not forced induction or nitrous...or 12:1 at the very least.

That's right, the WOT part of the plug resides deep down in the porcelain. What's in the motor, how much power?

I'd dilute that race gas way down, or run less octane if it's that lazy and lethargic.

figured that wasnt the case due to the fact that he said he was set at 15.

I chimed in because he didnt give all the facts. it ran good just could have gotten more out of it if it was actually tuned. It had about an 1/8 or less of 93 in it.
Motor is a 306 with H/C/I with a c4 behind it. No sputtering or lagging off the line, just needed colder plugs and to play with the Timing.

yeah, that's important information you gave - that he should have included.

I'll stick by my comment then, that's too much fuel for what he has in it. Hell, I bet it's down 30HP or so from that fuel alone. I've seen it MANY times on the dyno. In order to use what you have, I'd cut that fuel back to around 20%. If not straight 93.

I'm going to run 93 this weekend and see if it pics ups any. I had rite about 1/4 off 93 octane in the car. Added 2 1/2 gallons of 112. New plugs are in
