What I've noticed, and has caused me to flee the republican party, is the desire for individual rights - so long as those rights are exactly the same and provide protection for others like me. But the decision to afford those rights to others gets snubbed out, creating some kind of hypocritical NIMBY scenario.

Don't take this as me supporting the democrat party, they are just as fucked up.
