Real Maps

Paper maps are still the best. I ignore my GPS most of the time. It's great for logging my state mileage, and giving me a rough eta.....that's about it.

Example: Coming back to Arlington from Jacksonville, it wants me to go I-10 to Mobile, then head northeast to Atlanta, then continue west on I-20. That is 4 hours slower than the obvious route.

That's actually where I learned to shoot a bearing, Philmont Scout Ranch.

I did "Tooth of Time" at Philmont. Beautiful place.

Still use them! GPSs can't run forever. I'm super rusty at land navigation though lol
