Funny thing, the all caps messages, and style or writing, etc never bothered me. Obviously someone higher up needed to justify his/her job, and leave a lasting mark on the navy.

It's difficult to explain, but to me it's almost like you lose that time when you take a few seconds, stop and READ the order/message.

The above message is the full transmitted message. At least how I know them. As opposed to little text messages, sent separately in an effort to throw off enemy SIGINT units.

I hate Naval Message Format. Yeah all those random letters have meaning and all but to the grunt on the ground or the poor schmuck in an airframes shop it means dick and you have to sift though it to get the pertinent information out of it.

And it's been a little jarring for young sailors especially to see capital letters used in orders and other official messages.
