      I believe they are handmade.

Being an avid UT hater I didn't really want the orange, but I hate stiff uppers on my work boots and these were really soft compared to the brown upper ones they had.

I wear redwings and they are not too bad. Have to wear a heavy wool sock but overall they are good quality. A lot of boots in size 14 and larger text to not be wide enough, but these fit well.

Handmade doesn't mean shit unless it is fitted to your foot. A pair of handmade boots will last three times as long as any store bought boots.

You are talking custom boots. Most custom boot makers my customers dealt with charged $1200+

I have sent MANY pair of Lucchese boots that were store bought in for new soles that were 10 + years old.

The problem with these newer vintage/distressed boots is that once the "finish" on the leather is damaged or worn through, there is no good way to fix it due to how the factory distressed it.

The "handmade" Justins I wear every day are 5 years old and are still in great shape.

                  Ariat

These are awesome boots. Unparalleled fit and comfort. I have had mine almost a year in the oil field and they are just now wearing out by the steel toe.

My Justin steel toed boots lasted me three weeks. The soles came right off, only glued on. The salesman at Baskins recommended Ariat, then twisted X then Tony Lama

My number one problem selling Ariat boots, work or dress, was that they are made in China. The soles on those Ariat's are glued as well, and most likely have many more parts within the sole than the Justins (if you got an Ariat workhog).

Your going to the wrong places if they are charging that much most are in the $600-$800 dollar range last I checked.

There is a major difference in boots lasting 10yrs if all they are used for is dress put them on a ranch hand and they are lucky if they last a year.

I wore the Redwings to work today. A LOT more comfortable and lighter than the Timberland Pro's. My feet feel fine after being on them all day. And the they don't squeek like clown shoes when I walk. Good investment.

yeah, but they just wear out too quick in harsh environments. I loved my converse desert boots, but even they wore out in no time.
