I would like to think the word felony is just enough of a deterrent to keep people away from experimenting with the harder stuff. That stuff is highly addictive and fucks people up. I have seen very well off people go from riches to homeless and then dead because of that shit. I have seen lots of pretty young girls end up strung out and turning tricks at hotels because of it. You really want to legalize that?

As far as texting in cars goes I don't think we need new laws for that I think cell phone companies should disable it at over say 3 mph or whatever the average speed someone can walk is. Texting restrictions are not about taking your freedom away, they are about you not killing someone else to send a useless message to your BFF. I guarantee you if the truth be known a hell of a lot more wrecks are caused by texting then anything else right now. Most people lie about it though. I would put it up there with DWI as far as being dangerous.

I specifiy pot/whatever you want to call it, but I know there are some folks who believe any/all drugs should be legalized. Honestly, I'm not sure what I really think of that. I do know that I'm happy to be in a state that does have decent gun laws if that were to happen.

I'm guessing there really is no valid counter argument on my part. If you want pot legalized - it could be argued to have to accept the rest. Sort of like freedom of speech and having to endure WBC.

    Not a setup, just curious.

If they legalize it though I would like to see them go hard core on all of the harder drugs. I have seen many lives fucked up and lost over crack and meth. I have told a few of the stories previously and do not feel like typing them again. Hardcore alcoholics also have issues. I went to a AA meeting one time on a girl on girl fight and I swear everyone in the place was out of their mind. It was like I walked into a circus.

I have also seen prescription drugs fuck up more people than weed ever has. I think they should go after these doctors that prescribe that shit like it is candy. I love how they prescribe this shit to younger and younger kids and by the time they are 16, they have lost their fucking mind. However I am sure there is to much money in it for it to ever change.
This is truth. Weed is illegal, but is less damaging in my exp. I'm typically very lenient on weed related offenses. The harder drugs I worry about when folks start speaking legalization. Scripts, meth, heroin are drugs I don't care to see legal, or OTC with no limitation. Zero tolerance on those drugs in my book. Legalize the weed if u mus. I could care less; won't try it, I'll let u rec smokers have at it!

They can legalize it all they want. I have seen the worst in people on both substances. Skewed view? Maybe. But the question I responded to was about a stoner and a drunk. If I knew they were either and I was hiring, I would probably pass them up for someone else who will piss clean etc. my experience with stoners and drunks are unfortunately not what most see. Glad some of y'all got it. Others, sorry u got butthurt.

    Yup and those with clearances.

I actually believe that a lot of companies will just change their policies and have the usual wording in there. Hell, a lot of leadership in these organizations are pot heads.

Now gov clearances....that's the one I'm not sure of at all.

This has nothing to do with liberalism or conservatism. If you were to put a political bent on this it would be libertarianism.

But politics aside, people are finally realizing that the governments stance on this issue is just straight up BS. Pot isn't anywhere near as dangerous as the government has lead us to believe. It isn't even as dangerous as alcohol. I think most of us are sick and tired of paying to put people in prison for simple possession. Heck we wouldn't have nearly as many in there for drug dealing or violent crime from dealing if we killed the black market for all drugs.

We can see that the way we are currently doing this isn't working and hasn't been working since Nixon started this mess. It is time to try something different. Personally I would go beyond pot and make everything legal. Then tax the hell out of and use that money for treatment centers. Prisons should be reserved for those that hurt others, not themselves.

I've never smoked pot or done any drugs. I never will either. I barely even drink. Legalizing drugs won't change that because it isn't the law that keeps me from doing those things. I keep me from doing those things because I choose to do so. The same goes for most people in this world.

of course Nancy(I typed naynay, it changed it to Nancy, I think it's fitting) would think it's because the country is becoming more liberal. the majority of working contributing Americans are becoming more conservative, they want less government. the leaches and socialists want more government. get it right. anyways, I'm all for legalization.
