  • Best car for under $15k

I'm trying to get rid of my fiance's shitty 2006 Honda Civic coupe and replace it with something more reliable and without lots of issues. Do y'all have any ideas of what would be good cars for under $15k? Doesn't have to be brand new. We're sort of looking at 2012 Ford Focus and other small cars. Preferably something that's sort of peppy and gets fairly good gas mileage.

if you don't trust them then get a new dodge dart, supposed to be the next great little car from dodge. i test drove one and it was a nice fucking car. i would say go honda/toyota but you said something more reliable/without issues and those are the only 2 i could think of off the top of my head

An 06 Civic is unreliable? Sounds like your chick could break an anvil.

The AC doesn't seem to work even though its been repaired and the body parts fall off with a gust of wind. May have gotten a lemon but I've seen lots of that generation civics with the front bumpers popping off.

        Anyway, back to the point:

I really like the Hyundai Elantra, drove one throughout Yellowstone and it was a pretty pleasant experience. Not sure if she digs Toyotas. I think the only other Honda I would support is a Fit.

Bumper clips have always been an issue on civics, easy to fix though. The other issues are probably caused by your SMVA.

Clips are non existent. The holes that they go into are all sheared open and the dealership did a ridiculous hack job trying to repair it with glue and all sorts of other shit.

            SMVA?

Bought the wifey a new 08 Versa in 07-08 and it has been a great car. Loaded out with fosgate, blue tooth, sunroof etc it was like 18k. I actually even enjoy driving it and it is plenty roomy inside. Gets about 350 miles on 11 gallons and she doesn't drive it nicely. I think it has 68k on it right now and the only issues I can remember were a visor(giant air freshener), battery once but the dealer caught that, and the hatch latch broke a snap once. Not to bad in my opinion. Probably be getting her a Rouge next year we like the Versa so much. We tried the Cube last year just for grins and in the back seat the AC was terrible in 105 heat. I like the Muranos but not paying that kinda cash for a car. I also like the turbo juke but mama likes the Rouge better.

Another nod for Nissan, check out a used Altima if you are looking for 4 doors. Not exactly peppy, but I just totaled my Wife's 05 Civic and that is what we are looking into. We're sticking closer to $10k but we have found several with around 60K miles in good shape.

                  Good luck with your search.

I forgot about Altimas. When I drove them 5 years ago in valet I always dug them

There is a service bulletin for your girls car for the AC. For what ever reason the 2006's and around there sucked ass. My good friend bought his wife the same civic as yours. AC stops blowing cold the moment you tap the gas, service bulletin addresses that. It can't keep an alignment and I don't know how many times I have realigned the bumpers for him.

CPO Hyundai all the way. Or even a Kia forte.

The 06s were turds, they had paint issues, engine blocks cracking, sun visors falling apart because of cheap material. Hondas are not what they use to be.
