My dogs dont leave the property unless they have a leash. Not because they are dangerous but because once they step out of the house i still need to maintain control. Yelling after an untrained dog is pointless. Just because they know their name isnt "trained".

Doesn't sound like the dog was out of control to me. And the cop jumped on a pillar to get away from them because they were "barking" at him? That doesn't sound like a bunch of made up bullshit or anything.

Seems like every time they go to an address they don't belong at they like to shot something and make up a sad it was attacking me story. One day someone needs to shoot back kill the officer then it's the story of a trespasser waving a gun around shooting my animals and I was afraid he would shoot me next. No leg to stand on since the officer was where he didn't belong was trespassing and was waving a gun around. I would call not guilty in a shooting like that.

I agree. FWPD could quickly squash the issue by making the dash cam video/audio available.

If you take your hands of the steering wheel, you are not in control of the car. If the dog runs away from you and you cant do anything but yell at it, you are not in control.

Didnt say the dog was rabid or going nuts, just that the owners didnt have control.

Yep, and parents don't have control of their kids unless they maintain constant physical contact either.

My dog is as dumb as a bucket of hammers, but he can take off full sprint after a rabbit, and will stop and turn around when I yell his name. Just because a dog isn't on a leash, doesn't mean you don't have control. Also, how do you propose holding a leash with a dog on the other end of it, while unloading groceries from your car?

That said, there isn't even enough in the article to make an assumption that the dogs were out of control. But for the sake of the story, let's say they were out of control... They are on their property, where they belong, when the officer was somewhere he did NOT belong. I don't give a fuck if they were rabid and foaming at the mouth. I'd be suing the shit out of the City, and going after him on the civil side as well.

I agree with what you're saying, but the dog remained on their property, and the cop shouldn't have been there to begin with. Dogs are supposed to bark at strangers coming on their turf, that's what they do.

If your dog was in your front yard, and your neighbors shot and killed it, you would take full responsibility?

He wasn't yelling at the dogs, he was yelling at the cop that wasn't supposed to be there not to worry about them.
