Shooter would be arrested, held on insanely high bond, and convicted of murder to be used as an example to the rest.

This is just sickening. And the city won't apologize either, won't even do the right thing and get the family a new puppy

I think after this election I am going to contact my state rep and senator and suggest a bill that would hold cops responsible for doing this shit. Hell, all I have to do is get on DFWMustangs to get all my evidence. We should not have to live in fear of local police gunning down our pets, or god forbid our children.

Or god forbid one of us when the morons serve a no knock warrant on the wrong house.

You knew it was coming. If you enter an FTP thread on DFWM you're gonna have a bad time.

edit: With that said, the cop is a fucking moron. nothing will come of this and the family will now more than likely resent all officers in the future. The city will throw this under the carpet, throw a big FUCK YOU to the family and the cop will go unpunished. Its the same shit Matt, the same shit that we can't fucking stand and if you can stand up for these actions; than my opinions about you were wrong regardless of all the bullshit you catch on this site.

That's the shit we're tired of, I fucking wish to god they will start holding these dumbshit officers accountable for their actions.

Matt has chosen to avoid the question on whether or not audio video would be available in this encounter.

I'll tell you one thing. If a cop came on my property and killed one of my gentle non aggressive dogs, I would shoot his whole family in the fucking face.

If you can "mistake" a border collie for a pit bull, you can "mistake" a child for a gun wielding gang banger crackhead.

Go ahead and tell us how the officer did no wrong, you know it's going to eat at you until you do.

It is going to happen one day, and the guy who does it is gonna have a bad time. He'll be in a hoodie holding skittles and tea faster than fuck.

Yup, I'd be dead or wish I was. I have a shitty temper and something like this might push me over the edge. But that motherfucker wouldn't be pulling any dumbshit "cop" moves anymore.

It's happened when no knock warrants were served on the wrong house. Seemed to be a spike of them for a while then either we aren't hearing about them anymore or they've gotten better at using google maps.

The home owner would fire thinking someone was breaking into his house. Obviously he'd be way outgunned by a multi-person entry team packing full autos, CS, and flash bangs.

Excuse me, I cannot answer the question because I have no idea the details.

But, I highly doubt that there is any audio/video because of it not being pursuit related.

The department is testing different POV cams and as of yet, there has not been a purchase program.

If only you would use this logic in every thread of this nature...

                                FEROCIOUS PIT BULL?

There is a large demographic that is flat out afraid of dogs. It's the same demographic that is heavily recruited because of the "need for diversity". Dogs calls and snake calls are usually not the ones responded to by this group.

If you have read anything I have ever posted about dogs, you would not have mentioned questioning my stand on this topic.

The family will file a claim with risk management, and there will be a settlement. I have no doubt on this.

EVERY shooting is documented and sent up the chain as a "Critical Police Incident". If you have any thought that it isn't reviewed, then let me inform you on the process.

The supervisor (Sergeant) starts an investigation. This investigation is complete with witness statements and a full Crime Scene workup to involve a scale diagram and photos. The supervisor looks for policy/tactical violations and forwards a recommendation.

The completed investigation goes to the Lieutenant. The LT reviews the packet and either concurs with the supervisor, or adds additional information and makes a recommendation for discipline.

The LT forwards the packet to the Captain and he does the same.

The Captain forwards the packet to the Major and he does the same.

The Major forwards the packet to the Bureau Deputy Chief for final review/recommendation. If there is any discipline, it is sent back through the chain for the discipline.

Mind you, once the LT and above get it, they are looking to see if the officer screwed up. They are going to protect the city and offer the officer as a sacrificial lamb if they screwed up. There is no benefit to protecting a screw up that will expose the city to continued liability. Progressive discipline is the only way of due process that will terminate an officer.
