    both came from absolutely nothing.

neither educated their family about money. I think because they were too focused on making it while they could?
This happens a lot. I'm not going to make that mistake.

I think there should be a required high school class about money management.

Really? Go take a drive through section 8 housing in your area. Let me know how many Caprices sitting on 24's, Escalades and Crown Vics on 22's you come across.

there is a difference between poor people and project housing

a lot of people in project housing are there because they dont wanna work for shit and would rather live there in that crap for free. poor people live in shitty apartments and houses but are only there because they grew up with nothing and are doing what they can with what they have

in the past few weeks you are making yourself look like a complete moron, just FYI

Duly noted. I should have stipulated based on living areas and broke down poor into ghetto poor. My fault.

That is a great idea. When are you going to be running for office?

It's not just a problem with poor folks. It was disturbing how many people I met in college that had zero knowledge of personal finance. I went to a predominantly wealthy school too (not a barg). I met a lot of people that would end up penniless on the street within a month or two if their parents cut them off or had some sort of money problems and could no longer support them.
