So yesterday during football I get a call on the cell, not recognizing the number I didn't answer. After listening to the voice mail it come to my attention that my coward ass boss just laid me off over a voice mail!!! Are you kidding me??? He claims that it wasn't me and that I did a great job, they just had to cut some corners! Anyone else think this is poor business etiquette?

Terminating an employee over the phone in TX is against state employment laws..unless it has been documented that you are a physical threat to the employer (danger). I went through this about 10 years ago and called the TWC and confirmed it. My ex-employer found out and sent me a back-dated termination letter by FedEx.....like that made a difference since the ship date was 3 days after the date on the letter.
