I like how they look. $32k seems like a screaming deal for a loaded one. I don't understand why they're so expensive though.

You can probably get them down a little. The jeep we bought was listed at $23,995. We were only able to get them down to 23,000. However, if you look at NADA we got a really good price. Offer them just under clean trade in and they should bite.

      Our NADA looked like this

      Clean Retail: $ 27,600
      Clean Trade: $23,900
      Ave trade: $ 22,750

Agreed...they are apparently really popular which is dirving the cost up a lot. I'm really impressed with them so far though. We'd love to have a Titanium edition, but they are crazy high.

According to what they sent me from NADA...

        Clean Retail: $35,350
        Clean Trade: $31,650
        Avg Trade: $30,425

They are asking $33,995...I was thinking hit them at $32K, especially since this is going to cost me 10-hours worth of driving and a nights stay in a hotel. You think I should start at $31,650 (clean trade) instead?

Look up the NADA value for yourself and verify. Depending on how bad you have to have this car... always start lower than you want to pay. Go in knowing they probably won't accept but will counter with something in between. I always say deals come and go. We acted fast on this deal because we could not find anything remotely close in a 500 mile radius and I gave up my fight for another $500 and finally agreed.

We left the house at 6 Sat morning and arrived at 9 30 ( we were trading in a Mustang and I wanted to enjoy driving it one last time). We did everything over the phone so no negotiating once we got there. When we got there the car was ready to go. They do an oil change, new air filter, full gas tank, detailed it and waxed it. We then test drove it and finished the paper work. We went to a nice restaurant and were back by 6 in the evening.

Buddy of mine in Michigan bought one for his wife with the EcoBoost motor. He liked it so much, he got a tune for it and has been racing it on the weekends. Runs mid to low 13's, not bad for a grocery getter.

A lot of rental fleets are turning back their end of summer fleet. There should be some decent prices coming up on slightly used ones by November.

You better hope my wife doesn't see that flex in san antonio. She will beat you to the punch. She has been after me to buy one for her for about 3 months. I just can't get over the look of them. I've never drove one so maybe that would change my mind.

Freighttrain... there are two at Don Davis right now for 28,990. Fully loaded limiteds with nav, One white and one black with 22,000 miles. However, I do not think they have the ecoboost and awd. If you want I can pm you the links and phone number for a salesman that I know there.

I can't believe how comfortable the front seats are. The second row has to have a console tho...it seems like it's missing something without one, and there is no arm rests on the rear seats....so the console doubles that function. You can also get the rear console refrigerated...that's pretty cool. We always use a big plug-in cooler when we travel, and that would do away with having to take up so much space with the cooler.

The Ecoboost is a must though...the regular Duratech we drove was quite gutless. However they aren't making any deals on them either...seems the EB is in high demand right now so the best deal is going to be to use my X-plan #....and with the options we're wanting comes out to $45K-$46K. I've been looking around for some used ones, not many EBs out there but I did stumbled on one down in San Antonio that looks like a good deal....

                          http://www.nplincoln.com/2010-ford-flex-limited-wecoboost-vin-2FMHK6DT3ABA82192.html

It actually has more options than what we were thinking, but hell their asking is still ~$12K less than what we would be looking at on a new one. I've talked to one of their guys about it today and he indicated that they are also a little nego on the price...he said just make us an offer.....book trade-in on this exact vehicle is showing $31,335....so I'm thinking maybe hit them at $32K and see what they say.

                          Thoughts?
Dooooooooo it. It's even the right color!!

That white one is a good deal for all the options with the EB engine....however the guy is being way too much of a used car salesman over the phone. Trying to describe the car as "flawless", but better pics are showing some stains, a couple curbed wheels, and a slightly scraped bumper cover.

Far from my definition of flawless....but still maybe a good deal....other Limited EB's I'm finding with similar miles are all closer to $40K.

                            We're still thinking on it.

I bought her one on Thurs....Toyota of Fort Worth had just taken it on trade and I saw it pop-up on autotrader.com Thurs morning. It wasn't one of the colors we were looking for but we decided to go take a look anyway....I'm sure glad we did! We both really liked the color when we saw it in-person....from the pictures we thought it was that hideous ox-blood looking non-metallic maroon, but when we got there we saw that it wasn't...it's a metallic copper/rootbeer looking color....and it doesn't have the two-tone roof like most of them either. Really sharp in the sunlight. Real well loaded with options....the damned thing even has heated seats in the rear.

Anyways...it's a 2010 Ecoboost with 27K miles, and they took $28.8K for it. I've got to say this was one of the best buying experiences I've had with a car dealer....absolutley no pressure at all, and they were real straight forward on the price....none of that back & forth BS.

I'm still warming up to it myself...they are a little funky looking to me, but it's super comfortable and really functional...and that EB motor pulls like a mother in this thing. She's really happy with it....so I guess that's what counts the most!

...turns out our anniversary was yesterday too.

Now I guess I have to get ready to sell the Magnum....kinda hate to see it go...has been a great car.
