  • symptoms of glock bulge?

Loaded 100 rounds the night before last to take to a shoot I was going to. Brass was matched headstamp and I have no idea of the reload count. Out of the 100 I had around 15 that failed to feed. The round was only coming out of the magazine about a quarter of an inch and locking the slide to the rear. I assume this to be glock bulge as the round might have been to wide to feed from the mag reliably. I guess I need to invest in a bulge buster. Anyone had experience with this?

On a side note, I've gotten these titegroup loads pretty damn accurate. I was able to hit a few times from over 75yards yesterday.

I thought the symptoms of glock bulge were what happened CJ's eyes and blood vessels in his temples when he sensed that a glock was nearby.

I thought that's what happened in my pants when I open my safe and see 99% of every glorious model produced just begging me to carry them today....

      God bless.

The "Glock Bulge" shouldn't have that effect feeding from the mag. The inertia of the slide should still strip it from the mag. Sounds morel like the rounds nose dived/got stuck on the lip of the feed ramp. Either the bullet itself hit the feed ramp lip or the mouth of the case. When that happens, I would check for bullet set back before firing the rounds.

Hmm. Could be I guess. I'll watch the gopro footage and see if I can tell. All my rounds have pretty good neck tension, I push them into my bench as hard as a can to see if they move at all. They were pretty easy to remedy, just release the slide again, however it seems like if the round was diving into the feed ramp that the slide wouldn't lock back.

Thinking about it, I wonder if it is an oal problem- I think if the rounds were too long it would make sense.

Do you have a caliper? Have you considered the possibility that it may be due to glocks sucking?

The symptoms of Glock bulge? The cases are bulged where the chamber doesn't support them. You'll be able to see it, and you should eliminate it if you resize prior to reloading.

I've got a caliper/ its probably not the greatest/and I don't check every case. I've run 500 reloads through my gun and haven't had a single hiccup. I'm thinking that some of the projectiles didn't seat deeply enough. I'm going to check at the range tomorrow.

First thing a glock shooter should check.

I thought Glock bulge was a reference to when the slide and frame separate with enough room to watch tv thru it. That's the only kind I've seen...but it was only once.

A good friend of mine at work that reloads everything calls it "glocked brass".

Well, I guess when I get home I'll check all my brass with the manual caliper. Maybe my electronic isn't worth a damn.

As long as your full length resizing brass it shouldn't have issues. I've never had issues like that. Usually it's caused by insufficient crimp.
