                Couldn't get past the 440 outrunning the oil pump. Had a guy at my local Orielly's bragging about fixing up a hemi cuda, with the big 440 hemi. Can't stand those types.

                        I used to correct people about cars all the time. But now I just enjoy listening to people's part-truth, part-bullshit stories. We don't have a lot of 'oral tradition' culture anymore and this is one of the last vestiges.

                        The ball-stud Hemi was very real but was also never released to the public. I'm not aware that any GT500s had unique rear windows? I know about the '65 GT350R plexiglass one with the dip in it for heat ventilation.

                              Gt350 was a 289 that made 271hp, the boss made 29x I think.

                              They had cars back then that would run in the 12s, with that kind of power advertised vs what modifications they could have, I would guess a 300hp high revving 289/302 would easily get into the 12s. They could get a lot further with compression with the leaded gas.

                              Just a thought.

                              I know the type though, they are the Type that learn from books and get confused when reciting what they've read.
