I've mentioned in the past that I work with a total idiot. He's 60yo. and claims to be the end all be all of hotrods.
Well I figured I had to share so I set my voice recorder on my phone and baited him into a conversation about cars. I tried to play as dumb as I could so he would explain things to me. It was real hard to not call him out on shit but I figured I had to let him flap on for the sake of the recording.
    Enjoy.

Has he been tested for dementia? I like his part about why the Olds 442 was called a 442, that's how big the engine was. I also enjoyed his knowledge about the Ford 500 GT, I'm assuming he was talking about the Shelby GT 500.

you have no idea how hard it was to not call him a fucking idiot! I missed the first bit where he says his 68 dodge has a 440 in it that's worth $20k.

Ask him what was the last FOMOCO product to come with a factory installed 427 side oiler.

The correct answer is a 1968 Cougar GTE.

you missed when he explained how ford made the mustang to compete with the Camaro, and that the firebird came out first. Oh and if you ever see a "Ford 500 3 window that's a real rare car with it's landow windows.

I thought he was talking about the GT500 (500GT his words) and its unique rear window set up.

also once he tried telling me that a 65 ford mustang with a 302 had 302 horse power and would give my 2015 GT a run for its money because from 65 to 71 engines made 1hp per cubic inch. And if you want to build a racecar you need to look for one of those engines.

I guess the Mercury 302's didn't get the same treatment, mine never made that much power when it was stockish.
