All I know is Allstate wanted to cut the frame in half on my 1 yr old F250, so I had to file on my insurance and State Farm fought with Allstate for a year to get my deductible back. State Farm took one look at it and said totaled and cut me a check for 48k. Allstate tried to send me a check for 15k to repair it and claimed it was 30% my fault their customer ran the yield sign.

If it was the Raptor, the frame is bound to split eventually anyway.

Allstate and geico always pay us to put aftermarket stuff only on cars. It's a fight if the customer demands oem parts. State Farm is the best company imo. They want the car to be repaired top notch and use oem parts. Allstate and geico are super cheap when it comes to fixing yalls cars. I don't recommend either one

the "customer" reviews you read are totally different from the reviews you will never read from the shops that have to deal with said insurance companies.

the shop perspective is much different than that of the consumer.

That is true. If customers really understood what their insurance companies want us to do to their cars they would not rate them so highly. Not to mention that the insurance companies do not pay us for the work we actually do.

Progressive took care of my recent accident with a lot of help from the body shop. The initial adjuster had the damage at $3500 using salvaged and aftermarket parts. Ended up being $8900 using all genuine parts thanks to the body shop fighting for me.

Ya'll are both right. Most people have no idea how bad the insurance companies are trying to get over on them AND the shop too. They really will pull any trick they can to not pay the shop for work they perform.

It has nothing to do with the shop fighting for you. The used and or aftermarket parts sourced on the original estimate were either not available or did not fit. Progressive will not just pay out on new parts because we ask.

Did you get your issues fixed yet? I couldn't read through all of the BS on this thread to find out.

ScottMc, come on man. you have no room to dog any shops out..you work for caliber right? you should know this industry by now.. most, if not all of the technicians here in dfw have worked for SK and caliber at some point..
I have had to redo work for Caliber shops in my area and I am sure they have had to fix some SK cars as well..

I'd agree with you if it was only a part or two or three. Every single piece replaced on my car is a genuine Audi part.

There aren't many a/m audi parts out there.. if there are, they fit usually isn't good enough to use. It would be totally different if you have a Honda civic. lol

Everyone needs to check into their insurance policy. most carriers want to use lkq or alternative parts.. I am insured with Safeco and made sure to pay a little extra to get the OEM endorsement on my policy. I recommend that everyone check with their carrier to see if they offer it.

This industry is changing everyday.. The carriers want to use the most cost effective way to repair a vehicle.. The repair facility wants to ensure we have as much business as possible and if you want to stay on their DRP program, you have to follow their guidelines. If I could use OEM parts on every car we repair, it would be great. But unfortunately that is not the case now days.

Well I can't help but think that if I had taken my car to a bigger shop things would have turned out much different, and not in a good way.

Not really. As stated previously there is not much available used or aftermarket for Audis. They will show up in our estimating system as being available, but they really aren't. The shop did not fight for you. The knock off parts the Progressive imagined up did not exist. Trust me. I have been an estimator/shop manager for over a decade.

I'm speaking from a repair/totaled situation. They ended up repairing roughly 90% of the value of the car.
