I made this for a friend out of old fence boards, and made the stencil out of masking tape.

Next time I'll use a projector instead of making my own stencil

Awesome stuff guys.. I love re-using materials like that. Part of my problem with being a pack-rat is that I hate to throw shit away because I always see future potential for today's "garbage".

We used old fence panels to finish out a bedroom we added above the boat house. We actually disassembled the panels and ran each board through a planer to clean them up a bit (they were all sorts of different colors). We've since added carpet and put the beds on frames.

And yes, it's very low headroom. We're all tall and none of the adults can stand in the room. We built it for the kids, so no big deal. I can't tell you how many times I slammed my head into the ceiling though...

ha, if anyone else is interested, there is a fence company in mesquite off 30 and galloway or whatever the next street east is, on the southside service road, that will let you come haul whatever you want off for free. you just gotta get there early, like before 9.
