So when does the transformation begin? I see a lot of talk and no pictures. Probably should move this to the back porch.

I had to make some "adapters" to get the stock brackets for the sway bar to work. I am picking up stock blazer brackets today to replace the ones from the dime.
The road I take to work is very twisty (548 from Royse City to Fate, SEB knows what I am talking about!). I got stuck behind a truck and couldn't stretch its legs. I pushed it where I could and the difference is night and day! I will pust a pic or two showing the difference in the bars later

Here are a couple of poor pictures. Just a comparison of the onld and new bars.
The anemic stock bar (25mm)
The upgrded blazer bar (33mm)
They should have built all of these trucks with the larger bar. It hs reduced body roll quite a bit. It has made this truck a good bit more fun to drive!

My radio has started giving me issues so I checked ebay and scored a Navigation unit from a 2003-2006 full size vehicle chassis code GMT800. It is supposed to be a refurbished unit so hopefully the VIN is cleared. If that is the case it should be plug and play. Add a nav antenna and on star unit and it is fully functioning. Factory nav ina $13k truck.
Worst case I need to find a GM dealer that will hook it to a tech 2 and unlock it.

One of the reasons I searched for a 2003 s-10 when I bought this truck was the class 2 data system and the dash bezel. Earlier trucks were wired with class 2 but only had a 1.5 DIN radio opening. The 2003 got a double DIN opening.
Well what does that have to do with anything? GM factory navigation units are Double DIN units and require the class 2 data system. Since the 2003 S-10 meets those requirements, GM navigation units are plug and play. I scored one for a song on ebay last week, $175 + shipping.
Before:
After:
I bought the unit as a refurbished radio. I talked the guy down from $285 + shipping. I was hoping since it was a refurb, the VIN had been cleared from the radio. When I plugged it in and turned the key, it displayed the Chevy emblem, good sign number 1. Good sign number two, sound. I was excited for a moment, it soon locked down on me. Now for a trip to a Chevy/GM dealer and explain to them how to fool my truck into thinking it can have a nav unit. They will have to tell the tech2 it is working on say an escalade to be able to unlock the radio, as the menu for the nav unit isn't available for the S-10. The kicker, I will probably have to pay for it.
Tomorrow I plan to "clearance" the dash bezel a bit. The face of thevradio is a bit thicker than stock and it doesn't seat against the dash like it should

If anyone stumbles upon this and has, hs access to, or knows a GM service tech/manager willing to spend 30 min or so working WITH me and willing to listen/collaborate to unlock this, PLEASE let me know

I went with a Double Din in my dodge to get a full screen and utilize a back up camera with out a screen constantly having to be opened when I wish to use the camera to connect to trailers. The truck is factory 1.5 Din so it took some trimming, a lot of patience, and numerous test fits to get a clean an install as possible. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out, I had to make a couple little filler pieces to epoxy to the bezel to fill each side. Crappy cell pics and bad lighting makes it look like it has a lot of gaps, but everything fits tight and symmetrical.
