He has not threatened that at all. He has said he has not ruled it out completely but has no plans to do that.

The debate is over for me. I'm voting for Ron Paul. I don't agree with Paul on several issues, like using the gold standard, but I don't see him as a lessor evil when voting for him.

The foreign policy debate is bunk. He hasn't been preaching isolationism. He's been preaching non interference. There is a huge difference. I've heard a lot of guys here state in the past that they don't want the United States to be the worlds policeman. That is exactly what RP has been preaching. The only difference between him and others that say this is that he actually means it.

Our foreign policy has more or less been the same for the last 50 or 60 years. Look where it has gotten us. It is time to stop this insanity and do something different.

The substance of this speech is why I'm voting for Ron Paul, and why you should, too.

Not saying he won't, but in that Jay Leno appearance he said the opposite. Link for proof?

Wow that was a moving video. Really makes you wonder how much we know about what our government does.

Left of Obama? Wouldnt you consider it "left wing" to raise our taxes and send it to another country in the form of foreign aid? The absolute 100% complete opposite of what Ron Paul wants to do.

No, he has not. Have you watched the Leno interview, or actually researched his stance? Evidently not. My bet is that you have just made up your mind and never given Paul a chance, as a result of your not agreeing with his foreign policy. A lot of people are, so it's understandable.

Exactly! His comment on Leno is that "that is very premature". In other words he is planning on winning the nomination. Though he won't because too many people are sold on the "party" candidate, who only furthers the slide. It is what it is and there is no stopping it.

I said he is left of Obama on foreign policy.

I've heard everything he has said. He has said he doesn't care of Iran gets nuclear weapons. His opinion is if we leave them alone, they won't bother us. He doesn't even want to impose sanctions. That's left of Obama. That's isolationism, no matter how much you you want to ignore it. None of this even matter, he won't get the nomination. You said the same stuff to me 4 years ago and I said he wouldn't get the nomination, he didn't. Here we are again on the same topic.

I agree he won't, though I don't recall having said the same four years ago.

Regardless, looks like we get Newt. And the train stays on the tracks, picking up speed.

You're right, I'm the reason Ron Paul won't get elected.

No, it's because the majority of Americans know you can't let a psychotic nation like Iran go completely unwatched. The French and Polish governments said many of the same things Ron Paul advocates if history means anything to you. I don't want to be the world police. I think it's absurd we waste billions on countries which for all intents and purposes are in the stone age. Many of the countries we send our money to are our enemies. However, some of those countries are a liability too high to be ignored. Remember, on September 11, 2001 we were not at war with anyone, and we should have (finished the job on Bin Laden and the Taliban). Instead, Clinton took the Ron Paul approach, and decided to appease, fired a few tomahawks and called it a day.

                      • They're called war hawks, and they are in the majority. They are also adherers to the party line, and anything that falls outside of those lines is territory for nutcases and idiots.

Sadly, these lines are indelibly etched and as a result the left and right will always remain at odds. Once we learn to look at the middle we can begin to heal and grow the country again.

I agree that he is not the perfect candidate, but he is the best shot that we have.

Most people don't want war. You're crazy.

Switzerland is not the most powerful country in the world. A comparison can't even be drawn.
