switching from auto to 5 spd. not a how to ?

lol...too many variables. A stock auto vs a stock 5 speed both with same drivers the 5 speed will go faster (at least AFAIK in the 99-04 world).

Now modify the auto a bunch and the story changes a bit.

Edit: IMHO an auto has no place in the drag racing business w/o a stall converter.

I agree , and a good valve body tb or not . I run both but I have to say I like the stick on the street much beter . My 4.6 is a stick but I have stick and auto pushrod cars and I think to make an auto realy move you have to have a big stall and gears (or a turbo Doug) and this makes street driving uncomfortable for me . I don't want to drive down the street at 3500 r's . That being said my new car is an auto with 5+ gears so it will not see the street in that form .
