fuel tank vent hose...

I have a fuel cell that has a vent line coming out of the top of it. it is a -8an fitting. I need to attach a line to this put a loop or two in it and tun it outside of the vehicle. The problem I am having is finding something to go on the other end of a -8an hose so crap does not get inside that line.

Suggestions?

K&N breather filter with 1/2" pipe stem.

Maybe a Threaded x compression fitting to a barbed fuel filter. You might pack the filter with aquarium charcoal too.
