  • Longblock storage , oil or no oil

I have a long block waiting to go in my mustang.
I drained the oil and water and its been sitting for 1.5 months.
    ( indoors and covered )
Is it ok to sit that way ? Or should I put oil back in it and manually turn it every now and then ?

You might put a tiny squirt of 10W-20, or Marvel's Mystery Oil in the cylinders, and let it sit overnight, then turn it over by hand. That should help, if the rings have rusted up.

If they are clean just spray wd40 every now and then and turn it over with a crank socket.

The cylinders looked but the only thing that had been done was back the rockers off so there wasnt tension on the valve springs and it was sealed and wrapped in plastic well.
