Cheby Question?? Setting Timing on a 93

C1500 with a 5.7. I'm a Ford guy so help me out. Do I need to pull a spout connector first? Should it be set at 0 degrees? I want to add 4º globally. So either I set it at 14º base or 4º base. Anyone with first hand experience that can help me out?

Normal operating temp, aircleaner installed, ac off and in neutral. Disconnect set timing connector(C114 tan/black wire) located in center of cowl under battery junction block cover. Set timing 0deg TDC. (stock)
