    I bought my truck this time last year from a friend. Its been a great truck so far but i noticed theres a weird noise in the engine compartment. Theres no check engine light on and runs great still. Just recently it started to act like the trans is slipping under acceleration around 50+mph, only when overdrive is on. I've seached the web and read that it might be a bad coil causing the slipping feeling and possible the motor noise. Can a bad coil really cause that to happen? I also really want to change the plugs but am worried about all the storys I hear about breaking them or ripping out threads. Im pretty handy when it comes to doing stuff on my vehicles, but the storys kinda freak me out. Any help/tips would be great. I dont have the extra money to fork out for a repair guy. Thanks in advance

    even a plug can do this. If it needs plugs, be ready to pay someone.

        Plugs are a pain on 3v motors especially when only part of the plug comes out.

          I have the same truck, mine was bad coil pack. I have 7 coils from this that are good. I upgraded to the accel coils from orielys online all 8 were only like 240.00. Well worth the money. And yes a fouled plug can do this as well mine had 1 around 80k

            My 05 F150 had a bad coil on the #7 cylinder. I installed a new coil and spark plug. Took about 15 mins to do it. My truck has 120k on it, so the plugs had been changed before. Makes it much easier.

                  If you need plugs let me know. I have done mine twice and never broke a plug.

                      Paul = greenbullitt

                      There's a guy selling the lisle tool an socket extender on CL up here for 60$.

                      Salem.craigslist.org if you're interested

                      I started to do mine, broke 2, extracted those, then drove to the dealer to have them finish it. 200 bucks for plugs plus new COP wires was a steal IMO
