    Yeah the timing is good. When I got it to run for more than 30 seconds I got the timing set at 14.

      The car has been running with the 6al for the last 3yrs. I really don't think that would be it but I have checked all the connections. It still is doing the same thing. I am going to borrow a friends distributor and try that. I am also going to buy a new ignition module just in case

        I've had issues like that when I had a 6a and a used 6al and they caused similar issues. Pretty common for them to crap out, especially if they are under the hood, don't have the vibration mounts or anywhere where they are exposed to the elements.

          I bought the 6al new and it has always been inside the car. I have it mounted on a fan cooled heat sink under my driver seat. The car is more of a toy than a daily so it really does not get used much. It does get started at least once a week and gets driven for 10 to 15 minutes every other week
