  • Has anybody put a 4L80 in a fox?

How bad was it? Seems like it would be a big PITA, maybe even have to cut the tunnel out and build a larger one?

Thats a big ass transmission. I doubt it would fit without major work being done.

Why not? A nice OD Trans that can hold big power sounds nice to me

That options is on the table. The OD setup in a 4L80 is a lot stronger then a 4R70 I thought?

Man from the research I've done, everyone (Dynamic, PA, etc..) was telling me that they could built an od tranny that will take the power in 1st-3rd, but you cant hammer it in OD. So fuck it, I built another C4

Gear bender is the way to go from what I hear.
              Vortex rear stand $75

They said that about the 80e?

I dont really care what power the car makes on a dyno, I care more about how it runs. I've heard that the glide/gv combo is great for holding power but is pretty "clunky". Guess that is still the best option if you want a trans that can hold big power.

I'm sure this is a dumb question but what's wrong with just the stock AODE from ford? I'm sure it can be beefed a little bit.

the gv unit isnt recommended to be shifted under power either from what I recall

If this is the car I'm thinking it is then it doesn't have an AODE it had a tremac 5 speed. I don't think anyone is building AODEs to handle the power he is making.

He only wants to run 9s, there are multiple builders including lentech that make aods and aodes that can handle that power, some say better than a c4 could. I know of a guy running mid 8s with one and on 17" drs too.

The planataries (sp?) in an AOD aren't as strong as an 80E

The car had a built MMR900 we pulled that and put a C6 in it for now because I have it. But I would like an overdrive trans for it
