  • Starting issues after swap

I swaped the drivetrain from a wrecked gt to another one. I got everything swap over and the car started a few times. It ran a lil rough I notice I had the distributor loose. I went to try and time it two weeks later but wount start now. It sounds like the battery is dead but its fully charged turns real slow. I checked the grounds even added a new ground strap from the block to the frame. Besides trying a new starter im lost. 95 gt

Would timing cause it to crank real slow. Sounds kinda like when your battery is low. But I allready tryed 3 diffrent bateries. Last time my timing was off I could smell gas and it would crank like normal and small back fire.

yes. if it is advanced too much it will crank slow which is why i suggested retarding it. plus you said your dizzy was loose and it probably turned some when you ran the motor and screwed up the timing.

Yup retard the timing and see if it starts and then SET the timing. If that doesn't work, I would put the motor at tdc and re-stab the dizzy
