  • A/C question

1996 chevy 1500 4.3 vortec, A/C has a leak, put in UV dye and there's some at the back of the compressor around where the electrical connector is. Is this a simple fix? (remove and replace? O-ring?) they dont show in the repair manuals

Are you sure its not coming from the center seal on the compressor? That is the most common area they leak.

I've had this happen to me, the switch melted. I had to replace the compressor.

not kicking on within a few hours so the leak is pretty fast and dont see anymore uv dye anywhere else with the light. do you have to special order the oring?
