  • San Marcos & Fredericksburg ?s

I'm taking a little road trip the last half of the week and was wondering if anybody had any "must do/see" things in either place.

I already plan to see the Museum of the Pacific War in Fredericksburg, going to stop in to Luckenbach and then in San Marcos going to see http://www.dicksclassicgarage.com/ and maybe check out some of the outlet mall stuff.
Anything else in or very near either place that is must see material?

This time of the year? Ehhh......SXSW is going on in Austin the next couple of weeks. I'm not sure about all the stuff that goes on besides music but apparently there's also a lot of other stuff. Might want to look in to it. Schlitterbahns is about 15 miles south of San Marcos, but I'm not sure if it's open yet. Wimberly, about 20 miles west of San Marcos in the Hill Country has this kickass glass blower place and Wimberly in general is a pretty cool little town to do some shopping. Of course San Marcos has the square which during the day is full of decent food, and little shops, and at night is full of drunk hot chicks.

I had thought about Wimberly, that sounds pretty cool. I'm going to be in Austin the 17th, 18th and 19th, so in addition to St. Patty's Day festivities, I'll be hitting up some SXSW events too.
      Thanks!
