I can't say that this is the truth about it, but I am about 90% certain.
Administrator Phil made it clear that their intent was to clean up a lot of the neglected issues and make it more of a mustang site.
If you were a business owner, and you bought something to make more money, wouldn't you want to capitalize on it's intended attributes (being a high traffic local performance site) and downplay the non-attributes (a forum of people talking about nothing of consequence)???
Case-in-point: logged out users cannot see the Back Porch. Therefore, browsers and passers-by see only a functioning MUSTANG website. Also, it keeps folks from making drive-by views while logged out (not the traffic they want, they want registered users).
SO for all the "oh it's gonna be DFWstangs as usual with some upgrades"... I'll bet dollars to donuts (03trubluGT, Treadhead... don't eat these donuts) that one of the 'upgrades' is trying to phase out the Back Porch and market DFWstangs through search engines as a tech/enthusiast website.
Like the rest of Autoguide's websites.
In short: They're gonna fuck that board up anyways by sterilizing it to make money.
My opinion, of course.
