  • Need detective help. Caught a company illegally dumping

Looking for some help trying to get some info on this company if anyone has resources. Also will take any advice.

I have a vacant lot in Keller that a pool company has dumped 150+ yards of dirt (15 trucks). Originally the neighbors thought we wanted the dirt. They dumped another load today and the neighbors caught the trucking company and got their company name for me. We filed a police report previously and I'm updating the police department but I'm not to sure what they will do.

The company is J & J Morrow Excavation. I have googled them and their phone numbers no longer work. The owners that pop up are John Morrow and Carol Marrow out of Colleyville. The business registered address is their house at 404 Falcon Ct on Colleyville. Can anyone dig up a phone number?

I'm not sure whether to try and do a small claims court or lawyer. I'm guessing it will cost me $1500-2000 to get the stuff trucked out. My cheaper approach was to just spread the dirt across the 2 acres.

+1 to that. Water company was supposed to give me a bunch of dirt, then flaked and gave it to someone else. I was pissed.

Just found an obituary for John Morrow. They may have sold their trucks and the owners just left the sign on it.

I could use some dirt to fill in some low spots all over my yard...

Might want to ask the neighbors if they see them again please take a pic of the truck so you can have them in action dumping on your property. I would probably show up to the house the company is registered to and see if they are still there as well. If so then show them the pic of their truck dumping and tell them they have 48hrs to clean it up or you will proceed with legal action.

Why bring race into it? If you ever get a chance to own property you may understand how nice it would be to get that much fill dirt for free, especially if it's on an empty lot.

Well some good news... I found a contact number through some website that shows DOT information and I called the guy. He admitted his employees dumped the dirt today because "there was already dirt on the property." I guess its ok to illegally dump since others have done it. Im hoping my neighbor can testify to the fact it was the same trucks the first time.

Police report is filed and I gave the contact information to the police. We will see where it goes. I hope he will continue to admit it tomorrow when the detective follows up. My uncle used to drive a truck and said illegal dumping can be fined at $10k/load. I have a total of 18 loads of dirt on my property right now.

Hopefully the dirt wasn't contaminated in any way. If it was, even removing what was dumped might not be enough if the EPA was too get involved.

Its just dirt out of someones back yard. They are a pool excavation property. I should call him back and say we are getting it sampled and contacting them

You may also get some traction with the actual pool builder.
