He said my lower back looked really good in terms of spacing and disks, said the only thing he could see was the discoloration @ the joint, which, in conjunction with the tests, pointed to sacroiliitis.
Got a deep tissue massage before I went to see the doc (you can't spend $50 better than this), started my prednisone steroid burst this morning, hoping for relief. Have more deep tissue massages scheduled for next week, doing a lot of stretching as well.
I generally started seeing significant relief around the morning of day 3. I am sure it is a bit different for everyone. I hope they are able to get you back to where you need to be!

finally bought an inversion table. have only used it a few times over the past couple days.

I don't know if it's actually "that" effective, or if I turned a major corner, but the past few days my back has felt better than it has since my injury. I had a few days there where I couldn't escape the ache. Which prompted me to order the inversion table.

I started feeling better before it arrived, but I've been golden since it arrived. Now, I also haven't done anything to tax my back either, so it's hard to say.

I went to Academy to buy the one Robert posted about, but they were sold out. I said fuck it, and bought the top of the line Teeter if only for the comments I read everywhere about the quality of it and the ankle locking system is really easy to actuate.

Wishing all my fellow crips out there progress and relief w/ their various back issues!!

I have tried not to be overly optimistic about results from my inversion table. I noticed improvement not long after I started using it a few weeks ago. My most recent increase in pain/discomfort seems to have correlated to an inconsistency in my use of the inversion table. I have been more active over the last week around the house, trying to make some progress on the nursery which may be the cause of the decline.

Anyone that wants to use a chiro and not get ripped off, go to The Joint. It's $69/month for four adjustments, cancel anytime. If you want more than 4/month, it's $5. They have locations all over, it's a quick adjustment and you're back about your day.

Also, if you need surgery, I ended up having a microdiscectomy because my disc was ruptured so bad, they thought I had two disc ruptures. The one disc was hanging down to the second. It was bad. Anyway, I went to a neurosurgeon, Dr. David Barnett, chief of neurosurgery at Baylor. Incredible guy and won't do surgery unless ABSOLUTELY necessary. We finally did surgery when my right leg went full numb. I did epidural injections and PT before that.

So, now my left foot has been kind of numb, it was always my right. I push on my sciatic nerve on my left butt cheek and the foot feels better. Guess I need a massage and who knows what else...
