  • Christmas Light Viewing

Say someone lived in Rockwall and wanted to drive round and let the kiddos look at lights.

Where would DFWM suggest to look? I'm thinking I'd like to keep it to the esat of the DNT corridor and north of 30.

Don't want to drive around in the hood looking at crack lights.

We go down to Highland Park. We drive mostly around Armstrong and all the streets that it intersects with. We went last night and do it every year.

You and slow99 should date. You both have passive aggressiveness down pat.

Another vote for Highland Park. Hell, the properties alone are worth going to look at.

          Deerfield in Plano is fantastic!

They even have carriage rides through the neighborhood to look at the lights which is really cool

So does Highland Park. Those rides are way too expensive IMO.

I was underwhelmed with Deerfield and the traffic sucked.

As a kid we used to do Highland Park, but I can't seem to get a decent bearing on what borders or streets that are the best.

Deerfield for me also but it's just a couple of minutes from here. A good friend owns a house there that takes him a full week to set up every year. Go early or on a weeknight to avoid the worst traffic.

It's a 20 minute light show with music, it was pretty neat and some neighborhood kid sells hot chocolate for a dollar.

I drive a carriage in Highland Park. We load in the Highland Park Village and only do hour rides so the area we can cover is limited, but there are some good lights between Preston/Mockingbird/Lomo Alto/Douglas.

There are a lot of impressive displays and impressive houses on Beverly. I like the big trees on Armstrong between Arcady and Preston. There are some really badass houses that go all out on Armstrong between Douglas and Preston. There's a house with jack-in-the-boxes for every member of the family on Rheims between Armstrong and Lomo Alto; it's pretty neat. There's a longhorn in the yard at Belclaire and Armstrong, and there are a few LSU and/or TCU-themed displays around there.

I hear there are even better lights on the east side of Preston.
