my boss is selling his. I believe its 24ft. double axle yadda yadd. its 2 years old and he's used it two or three times for good guys from austin to ft. worth. He said he just put 700 worth of tires on it...only selling because he never uses it. I think he's only asking 5k and paid around 7500-8k. I can get you in touch if interested. Its located in Georgetown but he gets down this way sometime.

edit: also has side door and extra front end where he was going to build cabinets etc.

Still a good deal. One thing I want to add to mine is the outside lights. Mine is alittle older so it doesnt have them.

ebay... tons of trailer manufacturers out in Alabama or Georgia. They were $4500 new. Just read the reviews. Apparently theres only 2-3 main manufacturers that build for most companies out there (from what I read)

i've owned 8 trailers - 4 enclosed, 4 open deck I have plenty of opinions about them but the main 2 things I suggest:

axles...5200# vs 3500#...3500# doesn't leave you alot of carry capacity, eats tires, etc..

you get what you pay for

Yeah I have been looking at these, some of the colony cargo stuff looks nice but I'd like to see it in person,

A lot of those $4500 enclosed trailers don't have the heavier duty axles. I looked at those before I bought my trailer. A lot of those companies offered the heavier axles, but when you added the extra money they were right alongside the Haulmark.
                  .

This is good advice....I've owned several trailers myself, and I can attest to the heavier torsion axles...not just tire wear and hauling capacity, but the ride is night and day better....especially whenever you haul it unloaded.

This! Also check racingjunk.com for used/new trailers in the area.

                      Get the 5200# axles.

plywood fold out ramps are worthless. They break after about 10 uses.

I have a 1997 24' featherlite that is a steel frame and the higher end brands age well. We recently bought a 28' Continental Cargo that is aluminum and loaded with extras. Originally a $24k trailer and got it just before the consigner was about to lose it to the manufacturer for $13,800. We found it in Georgia on racing junk.

I bought my featherlite 2 years ago for $4500. I knew the previous owner maintained it well.

Only thing about aluminum is that getting anchors added or things that have to be welded to the frame is a PITA. The steel trailer I can weld stuff on to but the aluminum sucks for having brackets added for things like winches and tie downs.

You should be able to find a 24' economy trailer with 5200# axles and plywood floors/walls for around $5000 these days. Trailers are built in Waco, Indiana and Georgia. Shop on Racingjunk so you can see what features you like and what to look for, then go window shop locally or down in Waco. Find what you like and be ready to pull the trigger. Also, consider going to Oklahoma to buy, then just register it when you get home. Just be sure to get the Manufacturer's statement of origin (Title) so you can title it in Texas.

Window shop at Waco Bill's in Terrell. He has tons of trailers to see features but his prices are high as hell.

This thread sparked my interest again, in my neighbor's trailer that I posted about a page or so ago....I went over and started talking to him yesterday, and after a couple beers he threw a new number out that I just couldn't refuse. So now I'm back in an enclosed.

I might think about selling my tilt deck now....not sure that I need 2 trailers sitting around here.
