      OMG !!!

I get that. What I don't get, is how anyone with gauged ears expects anyone to take them seriously in a professional setting. Outside of being a tattoo artist, etc. I see people going in for interviews in professional environments, with a 1" hole in their ear, and it always makes me shake my head.

Both of my ears are pierced, but I've never gotten the gauge thing.

I have a friend that has his gauged pretty big. He's one of the most gifted Kung-Fu practitioners I've ever seen, works on offshore oil rigs and doesn't give a fuck what you think, so it works for him I guess.

I had my ears stretched to a 00 and took them out almost a year ago and they're almost completely sealed up... When you go beyond that, you'll have a vagina lobe for the rest of your life.

I'm sure there are plenty of very intelligent people with facial tattoos and plastic horn implants around the world, but it doesn't change how people "see" them, and many times, those people that "see" them are the ones that are the people that are in the position to employ them. And I'm sure it effects their choice in deciding if they are hired.

Exactly. You can get away with it in some professions. I'm speaking more to the Corporate world. It's like the South Park meme. "If you think gauging your ears won't have an impact on your ability to get a white collar job, you're gonna have a bad time!"

Why does gauging them make them heal up faster than just a regular piercing when not used. I haven't worn earrings in probably 3 years or so and they aren't healed up.

Some of the best developers I've worked with are heavily modded. It all depends on the nature of the industry.

Both of my ears are stretched 7/16", heavily tattooed, never had a problem in my white collar job.....
I don't wear them to work, but pretty obvious with big fucking holes in my ears.

No, I don't have any piercings anymore.

I have a few tattoos though and it amuses me when I'm talking to someone and I catch them staring at my tattoos.

Which came first though, the job or the big fucking holes in your ears? Tats are easy to cover.

I had mine gauged to 9/16 I believe. Had them for quite a while and then I lost one and didn't feel like buying more so I stopped wearing them and over the next year they closed up to about the size of a coffee stirring straw.
