  • Touring lake front properties for "free gift"

Anybody ever received these invitations in the mail? Just got one yesterday to come out to tour some lake front properties on Lake Texoma. And just for coming out and visiting they with no obligation to buy anything (so they say), they will give me "free" gifts. (Taylor Made burner golf clubs , irons/driver and a new ipad mini). Sounds like a decent deal for a few hour beat down of high pressure sales of buying some property. Just curious has anybody ever done this? Will they never leave me alone with the phone calls if i go out there?

we've done a couple of these things before, not for property but for time share vacations. once for a stay at great wolf lodge, and once for a 3 day Disney world trip. never signed up either time, got the gift, and never heard from anyone after the fact. still a pain in the ass to sit there and listen to them try to sell you though

Use a disposable cell phone for your number if you do it. That way after you get your shit you can toss it.

I think it is an excellent learning experience for kids. They can learn about high pressure sales techniques. How others will try to take advantage of them, and the general bait n switch tactics. All good things to know.

As far as the whip goes, it.is generally big. Especially for some used clubs or other junk they are handing out.

That works too. I went to the throw away phone because I use them when selling cars and bikes. I got tired of people calling me weeks or months later complaining about some small problem on a used car. Easier to just toss it in the trash and forget about it.

No obligation does not = we're not going to hound the fuck out of you and make you regret coming out here for this free shit.

I'd still do it, just know - it's not going to be fun.

I've done it years ago and got the same postcard you did, several times. Sooner or later I'm going to do the Rock Creek one for the new clubs and what not. I know several that have done it and it's all legit, and they won't hound you after you leave.
